Channa Sath perfroms the Blessing Dance at the 2002 Lowell Folk Festival. The Blessing Dance was first perfromed in Cambodia to rid the royal palace of evil spirits and bless the kingdom.  Today it is perfromed to bless events and welcome honored guests. During the performance dancers sprinkle flower petals towards the audience. This is done to bring preace, prosperity, and good health in accordance with Cambodian custom.
